In the Naruto franchise, characters have the ability to manipulate their chakra through “Nature Transformation”in order to perform a variety of elemental techniques. This advanced skill allows chakra to adopt the unique characteristics of the five elemental natures, including water, fire, wind, lightning, and earth.
According to a specific scheme, elements interact based on their relative strengths and weaknesses. Each chakra nature is inherently weaker than one and stronger than another, resulting in interactions between elements that are often reflected in the techniques used. Additionally, every ninja possesses a natural inclination towards one of the five chakra natures.
Despite their skill and training, the majority of highly skilled ninjas are only able to proficiently use two or three chakra natures. Only a select few possess the exceptional ability to master all five basic elements. Interestingly, this rare achievement can also be temporarily attained by less skilled fighters through the use of a specific special item.

Kaguya Otsutsuki
Hagoromo was renowned as the Sage of the Six Paths for his extraordinary feats. Together with his brother Hamura, he vanquished Kaguya Otsutsuki and sealed the Ten Tails within himself, becoming its jinchuriki. For the remainder of his days, Hagoromo dedicated himself to promoting peace through the practice of ninshu, a technique centered on the sharing of chakra.
Hagoromo was born with the same exceptional chakra as Kaguya, and he already possessed the Six Paths Sage Mode before further enhancing his abilities by absorbing those of the Ten Tails. He holds the distinction of being the first individual to ever develop the Rinnegan and fully master its powers in history.
Despite his incredible abilities, it was not unexpected that Hagoromo was capable of utilizing all five fundamental chakra natures. Hamura, born to Kaguya as her son and Hagoromo’s brother, possessed god-like abilities. He was able to access the Six Paths Sage Mode, a power that gave him the capability to utilize all five fundamental chakra natures, among other things.
Tobirama Senju
Hashirama Senju, known as the “God of Shinobi,”was highly revered for good reason. He was an extraordinary ninja who surpassed even Madara in strength. As the first user of the powerful Wood Release, he was able to enhance it with Sage Mode and had mastery over all five basic chakra nature transformations.
Third Hokage: Hiruzen Sarutobi
Hiruzen, renowned as “The Professor,”was a skilled shinobi who rose to become the Third Hokage. He was known for his exceptional mastery of the essential ninja techniques and was capable of utilizing all five chakra elements.
Hiruzen displayed his mastery of elemental ninjutsu by simultaneously utilizing all nature transformations. With the assistance of his Shadow Clones, he released powerful torrents of Water, Fire, Wind, Lightning, and Earth Releases, effectively neutralizing Tobi’s own elemental abilities.
Clan History and Origins
Kaguya, the most powerful character in the original Naruto series, was an eternal deity who consumed the chakra fruit from the God Tree of the Earth. As a result, she became the first individual to harness chakra on the planet. Although Kaguya’s abilities cannot be classified as traditional ninjutsu, her command over chakra was unrivaled.
Through gathering the chakra absorbed from the individuals linked to the God Tree and transforming it into a multitude of elements, Kaguya possessed the ability to form the Expansive Truth-Seeking Ball. This massive sphere held the ability to annihilate the entire world.
Team 7’s Sensei – Kakashi Hatake
Kakashi Hatake is a renowned figure in the Leaf Village and one of the most influential characters in the Naruto series. He possesses immense power and is widely recognized for his mastery of the Mangekyo Sharingan and exceptional use of elemental ninjutsu. Additionally, Kakashi has the ability to utilize all five basic chakra natures, with a particular expertise in Lightning Release techniques.
Kakashi is credited with creating the Chidori and further developing it into the Raikiri. He was able to channel this technique into weapons, extend it to cut through Tailed Beast chakra, and even manipulate it into a hound to chase after his target. In addition to these abilities, Kakashi is also known for his lightning clones that can paralyze enemies upon contact.
Once, Kakashi enhanced the Raikiri using Six Paths chakra and fused it with the space-time abilities of Kamui. Following the loss of his Sharingan, he developed a fresh technique, known as the Purple Lightning.
In addition to developing a powerful Fire Release technique, he also created the Quartz Wall jutsu, which could protect an entire village and counter the natural advantage of lightning over earth. Despite facing a Water Release jutsu boosted with Six Paths chakra, his Fire Release proved to be strong enough to defeat it.
The Immortal Mercenary: Kakuzu
Kakuzu utilized a forbidden jutsu known as Earth Grudge Fear to transform his body into tendrils, resembling the stitches of a rag-doll. These alterations granted him the ability to assimilate the hearts of others into his own body, absorbing their chakra natures. In total, Kakuzu acquired four additional hearts, bringing his total to five including his original.
Kakuzu was able to utilize all five basic elements thanks to the unique chakra nature of each of his hearts. His original affinity for Earth Release allowed him to harden his body to the strength of diamond.
Despite not having obtained his hearts through conventional means, Kakuzu was still able to wield Lightning Release, Fire Release, Wind Release, and Water Release to execute devastating elemental techniques by combining them.
Golden Pavilion
The well-known Gold and Silver brothers, Kinkaku and Ginkaku of Cloud Village, acquired the valuable tools belonging to the Sage of Six Paths, including the Bashosen – a large fan capable of releasing streams of all five fundamental chakra types.
By harnessing the user’s mental power, the Bashosen could produce a vast quantity of the desired element. Similar to other precious tools, this object required a significant amount of chakra to be activated, posing a great challenge for the majority of ninjas.

The Deva Path – Nagato
Despite his dreams of bringing peace to the world with his friends Yahiko and Konan, Nagato ultimately ended up instilling fear in people through his involvement with the Akatsuki organization. Unbeknownst to Nagato, he had possessed the Rinnegan since childhood, which were actually transplanted into him by Madara Uchiha.
Nagato primarily utilized the Rinnegan’s unique abilities during battles, channeling them through the Six Paths of Pain. Yet, with his mastery of the Rinnegan, he could also manipulate all five chakra elements. Impressively, he acquired this skill at the young age of ten.
Boruto Uzumaki
The protagonist of the well-known franchise, Naruto, ultimately achieved his dream of becoming the Seventh Hokage of the Leaf. At first, he utilized Shape Transformation to manipulate his chakra and create the Rasengan, but he later improved it by incorporating Nature Transformation.
As a result, the Rasengan was transformed into the immensely potent Rasenshuriken, imbued with the properties of Wind Release. He conducted inhuman experiments, delved into forbidden techniques, and underwent modifications to his body. As a result, Orochimaru gained unparalleled knowledge and mastery of ninjutsu, including the ability to utilize all five basic chakra natures.
Naruto Uzumaki
Sasuke has been portrayed as both a fierce adversary and a close companion to Naruto Uzumaki. He has shown exceptional mastery of Lightning Release and Fire Release techniques, having mastered Chidori and even utilizing its high-frequency chakra to develop various offensive and supportive techniques.
Even the power of natural lightning was no match for Sasuke, as he was able to harness it with his Chidori and wield it against his enemies. With the help of a unique Rinnegan gifted to him by Hagoromo Otsutsuki, Sasuke was able to master the Chidori in his Perfect Susanoo form, increasing its strength and range to a whole new level.
Ultimately, Sasuke was bestowed with the Rinnegan, which allowed him to possess the unique capability of utilizing all five fundamental chakra natures. As he grew older, he honed his skills in each element to the extent that he could merge Wind Release and Water Release to mimic Ice Release, an inherited ability known as Kekkei Genkai.
Neji
Despite having average combat skills, Tenten is able to use all five basic chakra natures, thanks to the Bashosen – an item that allows its user to generate large quantities of each of the five chakra elements. This accomplishment is quite rare.
Upon obtaining the Bashosen, Tenten utilized its power to unleash a fierce gust of wind, successfully destroying Kakuzu’s lightning mask. However, she soon fell unconscious as the use of the Bashosen drains a significant amount of chakra.
Through the Bashosen, Tenten was given the opportunity to utilize all five elements, albeit temporarily, despite her limited chakra capacity.
The Adventures of Tobi
