Despite the ongoing events in the Boruto anime series, Naruto Uzumaki has yet to make a reappearance in Two Blue Vortex. As a precaution against Momoshiki, he and Hinata were sealed by Kawaki in a different space to ensure their safety.
In addition, the Nine-tailed fox, which is the protagonist’s tailed beast, has manifested within Himawari, suggesting that the story will likely progress without the protagonist’s return.
However, a recent fan-made animation has sparked a renewed interest in the protagonists’ comeback. The animation depicted a battle between the protagonist and Jura, one of the God Trees. Despite not being an official fight, fans were thrilled by the display and voiced their desire for the protagonist’s return.
This article includes possible spoilers from the Boruto and Two Blue Vortex manga series and reflects the author’s personal perspective.
Two Blue Vortex: Fans React to the Fan Animation of Naruto versus Jura
In the Boruto series, Naruto Uzumaki is a significant character who serves as the Seventh Hokage. His top priority is always protecting his son from harm. Tragically, in chapter 77, he is sealed by one of the main protagonists, Kawaki.
Jura, an independent form of the God Tree, was created by Code, a prominent antagonist in the series, using chakra. Jura was first introduced in chapter 4 of the sequel series, Boruto, when Boruto Uzumaki attempted to follow Code in pursuit of the Ten-Tails.
Jura assumed the position of leader among the God Trees and encouraged them to pursue a purpose in life. Together with Hidari, another God Tree, he journeyed to the Hidden Leaf Village in search of Boruto’s father, but unexpectedly came across Himawari.
The fan-made battle took place in an unfamiliar location, with Jura and Naruto both in their respective power-ups – Jura in his transformed state and Naruto in Sage mode. The fight bore a striking resemblance to the clash between Ishiki Otsutsuki and Naruto (Baryon Mode) in the Boruto series.
Despite varying reactions from fans around the globe, one common sentiment was shared: while some praised the fight’s ingenuity, the majority voiced criticism of either the protagonist’s perceived weakness in his Sage Mode technique or the fan animation’s apparent imitation of previous fights in the series.
Reactions from Fans
Despite the mixed opinions within the fandom, many fans greatly appreciated the fight as it highlighted the strength and skill of Naruto Uzumaki as he faced off against one of the most formidable enemies in the series. In fact, one fan even claimed that this battle surpassed the entire Boruto series. The overwhelming praise demonstrated the fans’ eagerness for the return of the beloved protagonist.
“That fire!”one fan said.
“This is better than the whole of BORUTO,”another one claimed.
“I wanna see this so bad. Naruto, come back. We miss you,”another fan commented.
After thorough analysis, another group concluded that it was connected to previous battles. These included the clash between Naruto and Momoshiki, the Baryon mode versus Isshiki, and also some fights from Jujutsu Kaisen (such as Itadori vs Mahito) as reported by fans.
One fan expressed their disappointment that X (previously known as Twitter) is possibly the only platform where creators can trace content from official anime series without repercussions, highlighting the popularity of fan animations.
“Sakura fight, momoshiki Naruto fight, baryon Naruto fight. What scene did he traced more? Gojo fight a little?”one fan claimed.
“Twitter (X) the only place where you can get congratulated for tracing,”another fan said.
“As soon as I saw it I instantly knew they used JJK as a reference,”another fan wrote.
Concluding Thoughts
Despite the fans in the reactions section stating that the fight between the protagonist and Jura was good, it could have been seen as derivative of fights from other anime series.
Tracing a fight from another anime series requires a lot of effort, but it is not advisable as it could be deemed as stealing content from animation studios that have put in a great deal of work to create it.
