Despite their long-standing feud, Nate Diaz and Jake Paul have yet to face off in the MMA arena. Although they did have a boxing match in 2023, speculation about a potential MMA bout has been ongoing. However, Diaz recently explained the reason why he and Paul will not be stepping into the octagon together.
During a recent press conference for the upcoming “Last Man Standing”boxing match, MMA stars Nate Diaz and Jorge Masvidal did not hold back with the insults towards Jake Paul. The YouTuber had previously criticized the two fighters for taking shots at him.
During the press conference, Masvidal dismissed Paul as a subpar opponent, noting that Diaz had already faced and defeated him. Masvidal made it clear to reporters that he did not view Paul as a legitimate threat, with Diaz even going so far as to exclaim “Screw Jake Paul,”a sentiment that Masvidal echoed.
The individual known as “The Problem Child”did not receive those words well. He retaliated against the two mixed martial artists who avoided his challenge to fight them in the octagon. Additionally, Paul offered a substantial sum of $10 million for either of them to accept the challenge.
Diaz called Paul’s bluff, asserting that he did not reject his offer. Instead, it was the 27-year-old who turned down the proposal. Furthermore, Diaz dismissed the idea of a potential future fight between them in the Professional Fighter’s League, as reported by MMA Fighting.

It is crucial to note that these comments hold great importance, as Diaz is currently a free agent. This means he has the ability to compete against Paul in any MMA organization, including the PFL. On January 4, 2023, Paul revealed that he had officially signed a contract with the company.
Despite reports of their anticipated MMA match at the end of 2023, it seems that Diaz will not give in to Paul’s offer due to what he referred to as the combat sports league’s lackluster fight sales.
Despite this, a potential rematch between them is not completely off the table. Paul and Diaz have a well-documented past, stemming from their boxing match on August 5, 2023, where Paul emerged victorious with a unanimous decision.
It is highly likely that a fight will ensue between them after Diaz’s upcoming match against Masvidal in the spring, considering their recent actions. However, for this to happen, one of them would have to be open to negotiations regarding their fight proposals.
