The announcement for the premiere of season 7 of Natsume’s Book of Friends has been officially confirmed by the anime’s staff. This confirmation was made through a new promotional video and trailer on Friday, August 30, 2024. Additionally, the staff also revealed details about the anime’s theme songs and the artists who will be performing them.

The team behind Natsume’s Book of Friends season 7 organized a special livestream event on YouTube called Natsume’s Book of Friends Urushi ~Summer Banquet. This event served as an opportunity for the staff to debut a new trailer and visuals for the show while also interacting with fans.

The release and distribution details for season 7 of Natsume’s Book of Friends have been announced. According to the information, the series will air on television and can also be streamed on Netflix and Crunchyroll for fans to enjoy the slice-of-life series.

Release Date

Shuka has been announced as the producer for season 7 of Natsume’s Book of Friends, which is set to be released on October 7, 2024. This new season will continue the storyline from the previous season, which aired from April 2017 to June 2017 and consisted of 11 episodes.

A year later, the franchise released a film titled Ephemeral Bond, which acted as a link between the sixth and seventh seasons and delved deeper into the characters and their connections. It is worth mentioning that the series is based on a manga series by Yuki Midorikawa.

The latest trailer for Natsume’s Book of Friends season 7 features the prominent characters Takashi Natsume, Madara (Nyanko-sensei), and others who will be making an appearance. The preview effectively captures the essence of the series by showcasing a diverse range of characters and their unique charms.

The brief video clip also offers a sneak peek at the opening and ending songs of the anime. The opening theme, “Alca,”is sung by Hinata Kashiwagi, while Toshiki Kondo performs the ending theme, “Komari Warai,”which translates to “Troubled Laugh”in English.

The Cast Returns

Hiroshi Kamiya reprises his role as Takashi Natsume, while Kazuhiko Inoe voices Nyanko-Sensei (Madara). Takahiro Omori remains as the chief director at Studio Shuka for the franchise. Season 7 of Natsume’s Book of Friends is directed by Hideki Ito, with script supervision by Sadayuki Murai. The characters are designed by Akira Takata, and the series’ emotional depth is further elevated by the music of composer Makoto Yoshimori, produced by NAS.

The television anime Natsume’s Book of Friends is an adaptation of the manga series written and illustrated by Yuki Midorikawa.

The anime currently consists of two seasons and centers around a young boy named Natsume who possesses the ability to communicate with spirits. One day, he inherits a mysterious book from his late grandmother and embarks on a journey to discover the reason behind his constant encounters with spirits.
