The inspiration for ‘Waking Hour’ came from my own personal experiences, but I wanted the story to have a different ending than many of my past relationships. I wanted Sofia, the main character, to realize that she has the power to make choices in the moment, something that I often did not realize I had. This is a common experience for many people.”

Mau’s next project was Netflix’s Disclosure, a documentary that delves into the influence of Hollywood on the public’s perception of the transgender community. In the year 2021, she landed a leading role in HBO’s Generation, portraying the character of Greta’s aunt, Ana.
