Navigating to the Lighthouse in Destiny 2’s Updated Trials of Osiris

On February 14, Destiny 2 reintroduced its endgame PvP event, Trials of Osiris, as part of the Episode Heresy content update. This revitalization includes several eagerly awaited modifications that make it the most straightforward avenue for acquiring endgame weapons.

In the lead-up to this update, developers Bungie teased players with hints of a significant overhaul for Trials, specifically designed for the third and final episode. The details were formally revealed in a comprehensive blog post on January 22, laying the groundwork for the new 3v3 format.

Players have had the opportunity to experience these enhancements firsthand, and initial reactions suggest a positive reception. However, the pathway to accessing the loot-rich Lighthouse has undergone notable changes.

Accessing the Lighthouse in Destiny 2’s Episode Heresy

As of Episode Heresy, players will find that achieving a flawless streak of seven consecutive wins is now unnecessary to access the Lighthouse. Instead, players must accumulate a total of seven wins on a single Trials Passage.

While maintaining a win streak still provides additional rewards, players can now lose matches without jeopardizing their access to the Lighthouse. Additionally, it’s worth highlighting that Saint-14, the vendor for Trials, now offers only two types of Passages: the standard Trials of Osiris Passage and the Lighthouse Passage. As their names imply, only the Lighthouse Passage grants entrance to the coveted Lighthouse after achieving seven wins.

Saint-14 provides two options for Trials of Osiris Passages, but only one will facilitate access to the Lighthouse.

After securing your seven wins on a Lighthouse Passage, access to the Lighthouse can be obtained via the Crucible sub-menu located in the Director. A distinguishing icon will appear above the Trials of Osiris playlist, as depicted in the image below.

To Reset or Not: Understanding Win Streaks

Deciding whether to reset your Passage after reaching seven wins depends on the length of your best winning streak leading up to that point. For those seeking Adept Trials weapons, it’s advisable not to reset your Passage if your win streak was four or more.

While it is feasible to obtain Adept weapons from the Lighthouse with any win streak, subsequent gains from additional matches after your first visit will require a streak of four or higher. Winning streaks beyond four enhance the likelihood of dropping exclusive Exotics and supplementary loot.
