On June 18th, Nayeon from TWICE made an appearance on the YouTube channel “The K-Star Next Door”in order to promote her second solo mini album, “NA.”
Having debuted a decade ago, Nayeon chuckled at the phrase “senior idol”used by host Jonathan, remarking, “Those two words don’t really fit together.”
Nayeon revealed that her green room is usually located close to the stage when she attends music shows. She mentioned that it has been quite some time since her room was placed in such a convenient spot. Whenever she performs at the end of the show, she realizes that she and her group are considered the seniors among the many other performers.
When questioned if she was feeling comfortable, Nayeon responded with, “I’m less anxious now. In the past, I would become nervous before live performances, but now I am able to eat while performing.”
Nayeon caused some disappointment among her fans when she inquired on a broadcast, “Are you familiar with ‘Cheer Up’?”She clarified, “I was tasked with describing ‘Cheer Up’, which was a chart-topping song for a year and won the Grand Award. As I was talking about its accomplishments, I suddenly felt embarrassed, realizing that some people may not be aware of it.”
Jonathan came across a fan comment stating, “If you are unfamiliar with this song, you were either incarcerated during its release or you are a spy.”
Nayeon shared her top summer song from TWICE, “Alcohol-Free”, and also mentioned her enjoyment of “Dance the Night Away”. As they hummed along, Jonathan accidentally hummed a Red Velvet song, causing Nayeon to jokingly express her disappointment. Flustered, Jonathan quickly reassured her that he was not a spy.
Nayeon, who is known for her versatile dance skills, confessed, “The dog leg dance is not favored by anyone in our team.”She further mentioned, “The choreography for ‘Alcohol-Free’ was quite difficult, and lately we have been requesting to eliminate the dog leg dance during rehearsals.”
TWICE has reached noteworthy accomplishments, such as being the inaugural K-pop girl group to take the stage at LA Stadium and surpassing $100 million in revenue from their tours. Jonathan commended the group, stating, “Even after performing for an extended period, TWICE continues to surpass their own record-breaking achievements.”
Nayeon and BamBam recently crossed paths after he had openly declared his feelings for her. When Nayeon was asked if BamBam had expressed his feelings during their encounter, she responded, “I believe he did. We discussed it when we saw each other recently. It was common knowledge that he had a crush on me and it became a popular meme.”
Jonathan inquired, “What was your reaction when he asked you out?”Nayeon responded, “He never actually asked me out. The issue was that he was too young. Other guys found it amusing and teased him, which turned it into a joke.”
