On May 7, NBA 2K24’s ratings update saw an increase in overall ratings for several top NBA players, including Anthony Edwards, Pascal Siakam, Jalen Brunson, and Kyrie Irving.
The current stage of the 2024 NBA Playoffs is the second round, with only eight teams remaining in competition. The second round has been eventful so far, particularly with the Minnesota Timberwolves winning the first two games of their series against the defending champions, the Nuggets, while playing away.
On May 7, the NBA 2K24 team revisited the first round and modified ratings in response to the performances seen in the beginning of the playoffs by basketball fans.
Additionally, a specific superstar from the previously mentioned Timberwolves experienced a considerable increase.
Easily the most significant update in the NBA 2K24 ratings on May 7 was the rise of T-Wolves sensation Anthony Edwards to a 95 overall, a noteworthy increase of four points from his previous overall rating.
Throughout the first round, Edwards consistently scored 31 points and grabbed eight rebounds per game, contributing to Minnesota’s successful four-game sweep against Kevin Durant and the Phoenix Suns.

Furthermore, the overalls of Knicks star Jalen Brunson and Mavericks guard Kyrie Irving, who both advanced to the second round, also saw an increase.
Despite the Knicks eliminating the 76ers in the first round, Brunson’s OVR rating in the May 7 NBA 2K24 update only increased by one point to 94. Meanwhile, Irving’s impressive performance in the Mavericks’ six-game series win against the Los Angeles Clippers, where he averaged 26.5 points per game, resulted in a two-point jump to 93 OVR.
The players who received overall increases were also announced by the NBA 2K24 team.

- Michael Porter Jr. – 86 OVR (+1)

This update to the ratings has been released following the conclusion of the initial round of the 2024 NBA Playoffs, which is nearly a month after the previous update from 2K.
