NBA 2K25’s MyCareer mode has introduced significant alterations to the trade request system between teams, requiring players to invest more effort this year.
With each new release of the NBA 2K series, fans eagerly dive into MyCareer, a mode renowned for letting gamers experience their basketball dreams through a MyPlayer avatar.
Over recent years, MyCareer has featured various engaging narratives. Memorable plots like Orange Juice and Frequency Vibrations remain favorites. This year, however, the storyline echoes past themes.
In contrast to 2K24’s focus on urban dominance and respect, Heart of a Dynasty transports players through High School and College games before challenging them to lead a single NBA franchise to success.
When can you request a trade?
One notable challenge players face is the inability to be traded initially. Those eager to request a trade in 2K25 MyCareer may need to wait longer than expected.
Due to the Heart of A Dynasty narrative, players cannot switch teams through trades early on. Instead, you must secure at least two championships before trade options become available.
Can you leave in Free Agency?
Fortunately, there is still hope if you’re frustrated with your current team’s performance. Players can transition via Free Agency before achieving championship milestones.
This method, however, requires additional time as you must fulfill your contract obligations before changing teams.
You can still join Steph and the Warriors as a Free Agent.
Players have expressed frustration after unlocking the ‘Influence Trades’ feature upon completing early quests like Trouble in Paradise and Face of the Franchise.
This feature allows suggestions for teammates and trade targets but does not enable players to request trades for themselves.
