NCT Criticized for Excessive Security: Even Locking up Visitors

Recently, the term “excessive security”has been a trending topic in the Korean entertainment industry. The issue surrounding actor Byeon Woo-seok has gained so much attention that it has even caught the eye of government and airport authorities.

Despite the recent controversies, it appears that another artist – NCT Wish, has also faced criticism for the same issue.

At the recent fan sign event for the boy group at COEX mall in Seoul, security guards were observed displaying consistent aggression towards both fans and bystanders.

The guards would reprimand individuals for using their phones even though the fansign was considered “public”, and would also instruct them to leave the fan sign area even if they had not committed any wrongdoing.

Moreover, the guards went as far as capturing images of individuals inside the gacha shop and issued warnings of potential harassment charges, even though the event had not yet commenced and some attendees were simply there to partake in gacha.

According to eyewitnesses, NCT Wish’s security team took extreme measures by locking visitors inside a nearby gacha shop during the fansign event. As a result, many people were confined to a cramped and stuffy space and were unable to leave.

“Currently, discussions about the situation have circulated throughout social media platforms and Korean online forums like “theqoo”, resulting in a range of negative responses from internet users.”

Criticism similar to “Why are they even having a public fansign? Are they too poor to afford renting a hall? This agency is bizarre,””It’s a public fansign, so why are they preventing the use of cell phones? Who gave them the right to control people’s phones and cameras in a public setting? It’s causing unnecessary trouble,”and “If they want to behave like thugs and cause a scene, why not just rent a private venue for their event?”can be found in discussions regarding this topic.
