On August 28th, it was announced by SM Entertainment that Taeil was no longer a member of NCT due to an ongoing investigation for a serious sexual offense.

On the 26th, Jaehyun released his first album “J”and also revealed that he will be cancelling his highly anticipated solo activities, including his fan signing event with Soundwave on August 29th.

Mark and Haechan announced that the release of their highly anticipated DREAM()SCAPE album, originally scheduled for this Friday, will be postponed at the request of SM Entertainment. The new release date will be announced at a later time.

Upon the public’s discovery of the news, all of NCT 127’s current members, including Johnny, Taeyong, Yuta, Doyoung, Jaehyun, Mark, Haechan, and Jungwoo, unfollowed Taeil on social media.

Despite the idol’s departure, not only did the remaining NCT 127 members sever their connections with him, but even other sub-units like NCT Dream and WayV also gradually unfollowed Taeil.

Notably, it was not just Taeil who was unfollowed by certain members, but rather all the NCT members they had previously been following.

Despite still being affiliated with SM Entertainment, the celebrity was removed from the SMTOWN roster and all evidence of him, including photos, videos, and posts on social media, were erased.

Despite Taeil’s fan masters shutting down, his social media following of about 6 million has decreased by 700k overnight, surpassing the decline of NCT’s fan base.

Taeil made his debut in 2016 as a member of NCT where he served as the main vocalist, delivering standout performances in key songs. He was a part of both NCT U and NCT 127 sub-units and was recognized for his prominent vocal abilities and role in setting the group’s overall tone.

Despite his departure, NCT is still expected to make changes to their future comeback and album release schedules.

Lucas was the first member to leave NCT, followed by Taeil.
