Despite facing controversy and being swiftly removed from NCT, Taeil has decided to make his official Instagram account private. This decision has caused some netizens to take notice of the idol’s number of followers.
On August 28, the K-pop community was rocked by news of Taeil’s departure from NCT and allegations of sexual misconduct. SM released a statement stating that the idol left due to allegations of a sexual offense.
“Upon receiving notification that Taeil was being sued for a criminal case related to a sexual crime, our agency acknowledged the gravity of the situation and made the decision that he would no longer be able to carry on his activities as a part of the group.”
The agency stated that Taeil had fully cooperated with the police investigation.
The K-pop community was taken aback by the news. On various online forums, fans expressed their shock and anger towards Taeil for his actions.
The public was made aware of a netizen’s claim to be a victim of the idol for six years, which further fueled the public’s outrage towards the former NCT member. The Bangbae Police Station later confirmed that the victim was an adult woman.
As the heat continued, netizens noticed that Taeil had made his Instagram account private on September 5.
