On June 20th, Renjun posted on Bubble, a communication platform, “Please refrain from calling. I will be exposing this person’s phone number,”accompanied by a screenshot displaying the specific number.
Later that night, someone who identified themselves as the owner of the exposed number came forward. They clarified that they had dialed Renjun’s number by mistake, as they believed it belonged to a friend. Due to Renjun’s disclosure of the number on Bubble, they received a barrage of aggressive messages from Renjun’s followers. This individual posted on X (formerly Twitter), “Upon seeing the messages, I began to suspect if I had unintentionally contacted an idol. Upon further investigation, I discovered that Renjun had shared my number on Bubble, falsely accusing me of being a sasaeng fan.”
The individual proceeded, “I decided to immediately change my phone number. However, while at the phone store, the employees recommended that I also go to the police. As a result, I went to the police station without changing my number. The investigator inquired about any persistent calls and I clarified that it was simply a one-time error. Please believe me, I am not a sasaeng fan.”
The individual stated that they were able to reach Renjun’s manager. They went on to say, “Upon receiving a message from the investigator, Renjun’s manager contacted me and expressed their apologies on his behalf. They assured me that they would take measures to avoid any future instances of my number being exposed. However, they also mentioned the possibility of me being a sasaeng fan.”
The individual acknowledged, “I accept responsibility for dialing the incorrect number, but was it appropriate to publicly disclose an unverified phone number? I expect SM Entertainment to provide a proper explanation.”
After the incident, it was reported that the troublesome post on Bubble had been removed.
