The tenth chapter of Negai no Astro, entitled “The Iron Chef’s Heated Battle,”was released in Japan on Monday, June 24, 2024. The chapter focuses on a cordial cooking competition between Hibaru and Terasu, allowing readers to gain a greater insight into Hibaru’s kind nature, despite his affiliation with the Yakuza.
In the previous chapter, Hibaru was once again depicted as a helpful individual, aiding a police officer in catching a gang of thieves. However, it was actually Hibaru’s childhood friend, Kinpa, who played a significant part in bringing down the group.

Torazo’s role in Negai no Astro chapter 10
Chapter Highlights
The tenth chapter of Negai no Astro opens with Hibaru, Terasu, and Kuran hard at work clearing away the debris from the meteor that struck the area. This gives Hibaru a chance to practice and manage his abilities, although he still feels hesitant about fully unleashing them.
After arriving at the Yotsurugi Family Headquarters, which had been converted into an evacuation center, they are updated by Kinpa that Ginji requires assistance. Ginji’s Astro, Leech Heal, enables him to heal others, but it depletes his energy. Having used his powers to heal numerous wounded civilians, Ginji is now in a weakened and disoriented state. Hibaru volunteers to take care of him until he recovers.
In the upcoming chapter 10 of Negai no Astro, Hibaru and Terasu make a joint decision to cook for Ginji, resulting in a cooking competition between them and Kuran and Kinpa. However, Hibaru soon drops out after creating a mess, leaving Kinpa to handle the cooking alone.
On the other hand, Terasu is unaware of Ginji’s preferences and continues to concentrate on creating elaborate dishes, while his teammate sticks to making simpler options such as omurice, hamburger steaks, and meatballs.
As soon as the meal is prepared, Hibaru extends an invitation to all the citizens at the headquarters to join in the celebration. Ginji quickly regains his strength. Amidst the joyous atmosphere, Torazo, the third Yotsurugi sibling, proclaims Hibaru as the victor of the cooking competition, deeming Terasu’s dishes too complex.
Torazo makes sure to convey his gratitude towards Hibaru for his valiant efforts in protecting the headquarters from Shio’s attack. He then firmly declares that Shio will face consequences for his actions of gathering links from other Astro users in an attempt to eliminate any potential threats to his power. Torazo knows that Shio specifically targeted him due to his position as the leader of the family’s second-largest faction.
Despite Torazo’s warning that being Kongo’s rightful heir makes him a target of Shio, Hibaru remains determined. He chooses to join Torazo on their journey to Roppongi to confront Shio.
Negai no Astro: Chapter 10 Review
In chapter 10 of Negai no Astro, the story shifts from the eerie haunted house setting to a cooking show. However, the comedic and enjoyable elements remain consistent. The most intriguing aspect of this chapter is the confrontation between Hibaru and Shio.
Despite Hibaru’s eloquence and formidable strength leading to his effortless triumphs thus far, his upcoming encounter may not be as favorable and he will need to undergo personal growth to navigate the situation successfully.
As confirmed, destroying links renders their corresponding Astro unusable. However, this chapter does not mention whether acquiring another person’s link would grant the bearer access to their Astro. If this is true, Shio would undoubtedly be a powerful adversary.
Negai no Astro: Chapter 9 Recap
In the previous chapter, Hajime Ikari, one of the Ghost Thieves, discovered Terasu’s link and chose to retain it. Karin Ikari joined him and together they boasted about frightening Hibaru and his brothers.
Despite being caught off guard by Kinpa and Hibaru, they remained confident that the previous incident where Hibaru saw monsters due to the scent of roses could be avoided. To counter this, Kuran transformed into a giant fan and Terasu and Genki utilized it to disperse the rose fragrance.
However, it was discovered that Karin’s distinct perfume was the true cause of the hallucinations, rather than the roses. As a result, the siblings once again encountered the terrifying monster illusion. Meanwhile, Hajime utilized his Astro to launch a barrage of wax attacks.
The Ghost Thieves failed to consider that their powers were useless against Kinpa, who had the ability to turn invisible, steal their Astro links, and defeat them. This rendered the Ghost Thieves powerless. Despite Karin’s attempts to use Genki’s gun to attack, Terasu was able to defend himself with his shield. In the end, Hibaru managed to knock out both Hajime and Karin with a single punch.
