Recap of Negai no Astro Chapter 1
The first chapter of Negai no Astro begins with a cluster of meteorites hurtling towards Earth. As per a well-known rumor, it is believed that anyone who makes a wish during this meteor shower will have their wish granted. The main character, Hibaru Yotsurugi, eagerly anticipates this cosmic event.
The next day, he visits an elderly man to retrieve the protection money. After, Hibaru reunites with his step-brother, Terasu Yotsuguri, and together they attend their father Kongo Yotsurugi’s funeral.
In chapter 1 of Negai no Astro, it is revealed that Hibaru and Terasu are members of the infamous Yotsuguri Yakuza group. Their father, Kongo, had a compassionate nature and often took in orphans, including those from rival gangs he had defeated, and welcomed them into his family.
At the funeral, Kongo’s children eagerly await the succession battle. They discuss and speculate about who will take over their father’s position. While some believe Shio Yotsurugi, the first adopted son of Kongo, will be chosen, others consider Hibaru, Kongo’s only legitimate son, as a possible candidate.
At the podium, Hibaru discloses his father’s last words, which name Terasu Yotsuguri as his successor. This announcement undoubtedly stirs up a commotion. Hibaru smiles at Terasu and declares that they will work together to shape the future.
The chapter then takes a dive into a flashback, uncovering the formation of the Yotsurugi family. Kongo had taken in numerous orphans and molded the organization. Surprisingly, on his deathbed, he had appointed Hibaru as his successor and requested Terasu to be his protector.
The dying man bestowed two family heirlooms upon them: a pendant crafted from the world’s strongest bullet for Hibaru, and a mirror pendant melted from the same bullet for Terasu. He made them promise to always stand by each other’s side and offer assistance when needed.
In chapter 1 of Negai no Astro, we are brought back to the present where Terasu confronts Hibaru about why he had lied during the funeral. Hibaru explains that his traditional values are not enough to keep the family united, and he believes Terasu will be more capable in this role.
After some time, the duo gazes at the sky and spots the meteors hurtling towards the planet. Hibaru expresses his desire to become the most powerful Yakuza in order to safeguard Terasu and provide for his loved ones. The peaceful moment is interrupted by a commotion as the townspeople become aware of a meteor heading towards their town.
As the tremors caused by the impact spread, Terasu urges Hibaru to escape the collapsing building, but ends up getting trapped himself. With tears streaming down his face, the young boy desperately seeks a way to rescue his brother. Just then, a mysterious voice calls out to him and bestows him with newfound strength.
Hibaru recalls his father’s wise words and envisions his fist as a powerful projectile. Summoning all his strength, he strikes the building with the intent to launch it away. Once Terasu is rescued, Hibaru discovers unusual markings on his right arm.
Eventually, he comes to the realization that the peculiar occurrence has bestowed superhuman abilities upon nearly every individual. The first chapter of Negai no Astro concludes with Hibaru falling into unconsciousness, signifying the permanent transformation of the world.
Possible Developments in Negai no Astro Chapter 2
The second chapter of Negai no Astro will probably depict Hibaru coming back home with Terasu and discovering the extent of his newfound abilities. As the cosmic event has bestowed powers upon nearly everyone, the chapter could also reveal if other members of the Yotsuguri family have gained powers as well.
In addition, chapter 2 of Negai no Astro may provide further insights into the Yotsuguri clan. Readers can anticipate a greater emphasis on developing the story rather than intense action.
