Through their interactions, the chapter uncovers the surprising bond between these two characters.
In contrast to the mutual disdain shown by Kou and Hibaru in the previous chapter, this development shows that the two resorted to a throwdown in accordance with the Yotsurgui Family’s code, which is a traditional method used by siblings to resolve their conflicts.

Negai no Astro: Exploring Kou’s Backstory in Chapter 6
Chapter Highlights
Despite being badly beaten by Hibaru, Kou refused to give up in chapter 6 of Negai no Astro. The Sanmenroppi members also made things difficult for him, mentioning his older brother Botan and how he would react to seeing Kou in such a state. However, Kou remembered the lighter that Botan had given him on his birthday and how Botan had always been there for him during his reckless battles. Kuran would often imitate Botan’s promise to always support Kou with a smile.
In chapter 6 of “Negai no Astro,”it was also disclosed that Botan’s dream was to become a club security guard, drawn to the idea of a delinquent safeguarding the community. In tribute to Botan, Kuran not only fulfilled his vow to protect Kou but also formed the Sanmenroppi.
As the battle raged on, Hibaru continued to relentlessly attack Kou, who remained unwavering and refused to back down, even if it meant risking his life. Just then, Botan suddenly appeared behind Kou to offer reassurance and support. However, Kou soon realized that it was actually Kuran before he blacked out.
Kuran, who had utilized his transformation Astro, Cheshire Cat, revealed that his intention was to regain the ability to smile and make humorous impressions, which he was granted through this power. He admitted that he had felt burdened by the responsibilities he believed Botan had given him. He theorized that Kou’s desire to destroy everything could have been driven by his wish to liberate him from these responsibilities.
In the sixth chapter of Negai no Astro, Kuran declared Kou’s defeat as a result of his interference, resulting in Hibaru and Terasu taking over control of Kou, Kuran, and the Sanmenroppi.
Review of Chapter 6 of Negai no Astro
Despite initially appearing as though the battle between Hibaru and Kou had been settled, chapter 6 of Negai no Astro demonstrated the importance of focusing on the underlying emotions that led to the conflict. By shifting the focus away from the action and towards the characters’ motivations, it became clear that Kou’s stubbornness or determination had prolonged the battle, revealing a previously unknown aspect of his personality. Despite not openly expressing it, Kou had a deep love and concern for his late brothers Botan and Kuran.
Negai no Astro: Chapter 5 Recap
In the previous chapter, it was established that Kou would surrender Kuran and claim Terasu if he lost to Hibaru. However, using his Astro, Kou easily subdued Hibaru as the battle began. He revealed that he had harbored resentment towards Hibaru for a long time, as he reminded Kou of his late brother Botan, whose demeanor he could not stand.
During the intense battle, Kou implored Hibaru to use his logic and refrain from putting his life in danger for the sake of others. In response, Hibaru aggressively headbutted Kou and followed it up with a powerful punch. Despite Kou defending himself with his Astro arms, they malfunctioned afterwards.
At the same time, Hibaru condemned Kou for betraying his people once he became powerful. He was especially angry that Kou had not defended Kuran, who had always been there for him. In honor of Kuran, Hibaru chose not to strike the final blow and instead requested that Kou acknowledge his defeat.
