Negai no Astro Chapter 7: Kou and Kuran’s Journeys Begin
Chapter Highlights
In chapter 7 of Negai no Astro, Kuran conveyed his appreciation to Kou for assisting him in rediscovering his true identity. He had initially hoped to regain his ability to bring joy and make a positive impact, but instead, he was granted a transformation into Astro.
Upon hearing this, Hibaru extended an invitation for Kuran to join their headquarters, as he desired to implement some changes. However, Kuran clarified that although he was willing to support Hibaru’s cause, he could not leave his men and Ikebukuro indefinitely.
In the seventh chapter of Negai no Astro, Terasu noticed that Kou, similar to Kuran, had been struggling in solitude. He was not acknowledged as an individual by Kuran and the Sanmenroppi, and was constantly viewed only as Botan’s younger brother. It appeared that when Kou desired to obliterate everything, he was truly trying to eradicate this perception.
Even though Kou woke up with his usual arrogance, he made a promise to protect Ikebukuro. He then asked Hibaru to keep an eye on Kuran. Despite Kuran’s stoic expression as he left, he couldn’t help but remember how Botan’s death had taken away his ability to smile. But Kou interrupted his thoughts, insisting that he come back with a smile.
Kuran relied on his Cheshire Astro to change into his older self, as without it, he would be unable to convey his feelings. Tears streaming down his face, he managed to force a smile and vowed to one day return a genuine one.
At the conclusion of chapter 7 of Negai no Astro, Hibaru noted that their team had grown to four members and deemed it necessary to form their own faction. He ultimately chose to call this faction the Hibaru Faction, which disappointed both Terasu and Kuran.
Negai no Astro: Chapter 7 Review
Throughout this chapter, Kou and Kuran are thoroughly examined, uncovering their true identities and the driving factors behind their actions. This completely alters the initial perceptions formed when these individuals were initially introduced.
Recently, it was revealed that Kuran, a stoic and skilled fighter, was initially portrayed as a youngster while Kou, a brat with newfound powers, had usurped his place. Despite their initial portrayals, it has now been shown that the two share a deep love for each other.
It could be argued that the chapter may seem redundant in its emphasis on the profound impact Botan’s death had on Kuran, particularly since this was already discussed in the previous chapter. However, it remains a solid read in all other aspects.
Recap of Negai no Astro Chapter 6
In the preceding chapter, Kou’s resolve to not give up remained unchanged despite being overpowered by Hibaru and ridiculed by the Sanmenroppi gang. He held onto the memory of his older brother, Botan, who always stood by him. Botan had aspired to become a club security guard, drawn to the concept of a delinquent who also serves as a guardian. In honor of Botan, Kuran fulfilled his vow to defend Kou and establish the Sanmenroppi.
As the intense battle continued, Kuran unleashed his transformation, Astro, and disguised himself as Botan in order to aid Kou. However, Kou quickly realized that the supposed Botan was an imposter and collapsed. Kuran then announced that Kou was disqualified for breaking the rules, ultimately leading to Hibaru’s triumph. As a result, Kuran gained control over both Kou and the Sanmenroppi.
