NELK Boys Join Forces with Storm Chasers for Epic Tornado Hunt Livestream

During a livestream that saw the NELK Boys teaming up with storm chasers, the content creators came face to face with a tornado and described the experience as “absolutely insane.”

The Nelk Boys surprised viewers by deviating from their usual prank videos and teaming up with American meteorologist and storm chaser, Reed Timmer, to chase tornadoes.

The group journeyed to Kansas City in response to a multi-day severe weather warning that had been issued for the central United States and certain southern states. The forecast predicted the possibility of multiple tornadoes, flash floods, and large hail in the northeast region of Kansas, as well as in northwest Missouri and southwest Iowa.

The five-and-a-half-hour stream that was shared on Timmer’s channel as a result has been referred to as “absolutely insane”by fans. They were left in shock after the YouTubers successfully intercepted a massive tornado.

Before embarking on their journey, Kyle Forgeard informed his followers through Instagram stories that the upcoming experience was anticipated to be the most intense 48 hours of the YouTubers’ lives. Additionally, Timmer himself described the storm system as a “legendary outbreak.”

Without a doubt, the team came across numerous tornadoes, including one that was described as “enormous”. They were able to drive alongside it and capture breathtaking footage of the swirling column of air.

A user on X (formerly Twitter) complimented the group for successfully documenting “numerous tornado interceptions in a single day.” They also expressed gratitude for the group’s assistance to those affected by the storm and for providing live footage of tornado formation and its aftermath.

The severe thunderstorms, as reported by Fox Weather, caused widespread destruction including flipped semi-trucks, building collapses, trapped civilians, and over a dozen injuries requiring hospital treatment. Numerous homes also sustained significant damage, with some appearing to be completely flattened.

As of April 19, there have been a total of 15 reported tornado-related deaths worldwide, with five of those occurring in the U.S. The CDP has reported that the first three months of 2024 have already seen over 150 tornadoes in the U.S., and this number is expected to significantly increase after the recent series of storms.

Despite the NELK Boys’ “unreal”stream, not all viewers were impressed. One individual expressed their thoughts on X, stating that they found it strange and unprofessional for the YouTubers to join Timmer’s hunt. They felt that it was highly inappropriate to have the Nelk Boys present during a severe tornado outbreak. While some storm chasers may indulge in sensationalism, this person believed that their inclusion was completely absurd.
