Netflix continues to face threats of significant title leaks, but a hacker has recently been accused of falsifying their claims about Stranger Things Season 5.
The highly-anticipated Arcane Season 2 and Heartstopper Season 3, both major releases on Netflix, were exposed in a significant data breach initially disclosed in early August.
Following the initial release of rough cuts of episodes online, it appeared that everything had come to an end… that is, until hackers announced they had obtained episodes of Stranger Things Season 5 and were prepared to distribute them.
The individuals had claimed to know the exact date when the leaked episodes would be released, but it now seems possible that they may have been dishonest about the extent of the content that was compromised.
According to X/Twitter, alleged leaker Jace Johnson inquired, “Who wants Stranger Things?”This was soon followed by a statement claiming his account was under attack and his Telegram group had been deleted. Johnson also expressed concern over potential legal action and announced that he would take a short break to determine where he could release the next leak.
A different user responded, “So you initially promised us three episodes, then some clips, and now we’re getting nothing? It appears that you may be insincere.”
“BRO, you initially promised to add Stranger Things today, but then nothing? You still have an excuse, so please be honest and let us know if you don’t have it instead of giving us false hope. Thank you,”a third person also commented in agreement.
Johnson has once again teased potential leaks for Arcane and Stranger Things, leading fans to implore him to “get to the point”if he does indeed possess them. There has also been speculation about a Sonic 3 leak, despite the absence of any news about the film.
It was initially believed that hackers had obtained “87k files”and that there would be more leaks in the near future. However, as of now, no additional leaks have been released since the first batch, which contained titles such as Dandadan, Ranma ½, Terminator Zero, and Re:Zero.
Netflix has now addressed the issue, stating that its “team is actively working to resolve it.”
The release date for Stranger Things Season 5 has not been confirmed, but it is expected to be in 2025.
“To discover additional Netflix shows, be sure to stay updated on the latest developments for Virgin River Season 6, Wednesday Season 2, and Emily in Paris Season 4. Plus, don’t miss out on new TV shows available for streaming this month.”
