Netflix has edited a scene from The Roast of Tom Brady, removing a controversial moment from the original version.
It is not out of the ordinary for The Roast of Tom Brady to feature some distasteful jokes, but the one aspect that has been removed from the Netflix special has no connection to any of the offensive remarks made. Instead, a segment where Kim Kardashian was met with boos from the crowd has been omitted from the final cut.
Kardashian was present at the ceremony as one of the celebrities slated to roast the NFL superstar. As she took the podium, the reality star was initially greeted with cheers from the audience, but their response quickly turned to boos. In response, Kardashian simply stated, “Alright, alright, alright.”
The revised version removes any mention of the boos and instead shows Kardashian walking towards the stage to thank Kevin Hart, who had introduced her. The scene then switches to a wide shot of Kardashian beginning her roast. (The unedited original version can be viewed below.)

After the roast was released, social media was flooded with backlash which ultimately led to its removal. While there were those who praised the audience’s response, Kardashian supporters also voiced their opinions on the matter.
One person who uses the X platform expressed admiration for the subject, stating “The criticism directed towards this individual over the past 15 years, despite her remaining unfazed, is worthy of study. She handles it like a wealthy person.”Another individual chimed in, saying “There is absolutely no justification for this behavior other than sexism. This woman is dedicated to her work and family. Envy towards a accomplished and attractive woman is inexcusable. It reminds me of the way Britney was treated in the past.”
Despite not keeping up with the Kardashians for the last 13 years, men who watch sport are not talentless and do not deserve hate. As one comment stated, the Kardashian family are successful business Moguls who have built an empire. Additionally, they have numerous TV shows and even feature in acting roles, such as Kim Kardashian.
The edit did not remove another joke made that night by Tony Hinchcliffe, in which he said: “Kim, I have some advice for you, close your legs.”Nor did it omit Tom Brady’s own comment: “I’m aware that Kim was nervous to be here tonight, not because of this event, but because her children are at home with their father.”
