It’s no secret that social media can spoil your favorite shows, so if you want to avoid spoilers, it’s best to stay offline. However, Netflix has surprised fans by sharing the most awaited moment from Heartstopper Season 3 before many viewers got the chance to binge-watch the series.
Netflix is usually known for keeping fans in suspense with its release schedules, and Heartstopper Season 3 has followed suit. The platform played a strategic game in its marketing, but on the release day, its decision to share significant content raised eyebrows.
At precisely 8 AM on October 3 (which is 12 AM PST for viewers in the US), Netflix UK posted the pivotal moment where Charlie confesses his love for Nick on social media. This act has left many fans feeling as though the most memorable scene of the season was “ruined”before they could watch new episodes.
While the scene was anticipated (as it follows the cliffhanger set in Season 2), a number of fans expressed their frustration. One user posted, “And somehow I’m still expected to do my job today? How is this fair?!” Another added, “I have to wait till 5 PM to watch it because of college… I’m ignoring Twitter and all social media for the rest of the day.”

A third fan commented, “AND I’M LEAVING FOR UNI THIS IS CRUEL,” while another user agreed, stating, “It’s gonna be the longest day of my life until I can watch it.”
Sharing the emotionally charged scene right when the episodes are released is clearly a controversial move, but those unable to view it immediately won’t have to wait long.
This poignant moment occurs near the end of Season 3 Episode 1, after Charlie struggled to convey his feelings in the Season 2 finale. After exposing his past experiences with self-harm to Nick in a fragile moment, he was almost ready to express his feelings, only to hold back at the last moment.
Back at his place, Charlie attempted once more by typing “I love you” out as a message. He was on the verge of sending it, with his finger hovering over the send button, but then the screen abruptly went dark.
We won’t give away any further details, but fans can take comfort in knowing that Nick and Charlie’s profound “I love you” moment is portrayed just like in Alice Oseman’s beloved graphic novels, ensuring fans will be satisfied.
All eight episodes of Heartstopper Season 3 are available for streaming on Netflix now. In the meantime, explore the Season 3 soundtrack, learn about Oliver Spring, and discover why Ben isn’t featured in the new episodes.
