This year has brought us sign stealers, Air McNair, and Hope Solo, but there’s more to explore in the Untold series. Netflix has just released three gripping true crime stories as part of its 2024 lineup.
Netflix continues to be the premier streaming service for captivating true crime and documentaries, regularly producing quality content. The latest additions include The Murder of Air McNair, Sign Stealer, and Hope Solo vs. U.S. Soccer, all of which premiered in the last month.

Excitingly, three more original films have been announced for 2025, covering dramatic events such as the 2009 locker room gun standoff involving the Washington Wizards, a cheating scandal in chess, and the steroid controversy surrounding Brian Johnson, known as the Liver King.
The first story chronicles the shocking incident where NBA player Gilbert Arenas confronted his teammate, Javaris Crittenton, after bringing unloaded firearms into the team’s locker room.
The second story revolves around the 2022 cheating allegations between top chess players Magnus Carlsen and Hans Niemann. Carlsen accused Niemann of cheating after retreating from a tournament, which eventually led to Niemann’s admission of past cheating in online chess.
Brian Johnson, also known as the Liver King, became a central figure due to his promotion of an “ancestral lifestyle,” advocating for the consumption of raw organ meats. He consistently denied steroid use until revelations surfaced in 2022 that he had utilized synthetic IGF1, testosterone, and spent $11,000 monthly on pharmaceuticals.
