The dark comedy series Kevin Can F**k Himself didn’t become a cultural hit until TikTokers started promoting it on Netflix, prompting viewers to seek it out.
The show Kevin Can F**k Himself is receiving a new opportunity three years after it first aired, as AMC has recently sold its two seasons to Netflix.
Despite having been around since 2021, the show had yet to gain much success in the mainstream, with only a small group of devoted fans who still praise it as “fantastic”television. However, this is all changing thanks to a series of viral TikTok videos that have been generating buzz for the show ever since it became available on the streaming service.
One Reddit user wrote on the show’s subreddit, “When this show first came out, I saw a trailer for it and was disappointed that it was only available on AMC+. However, I recently heard about it from TikTok and immediately went to Netflix to watch it. I managed to binge-watch the entire first season in just two days.”

A different fan expressed their appreciation, stating, “After coming across a TikTok about it, I’m grateful that I chose to watch. The concept is fascinating and it sheds light on the insidious nature of emotional abuse and how easily it can go unnoticed in certain situations.”
The show Kevin Can F**k Himself centers around Allison and Kevin McRoberts, a seemingly average couple whose daily life is portrayed in a sitcom format with multiple cameras. Kevin often finds himself in comical situations with his friends.
Despite its seemingly innocuous nature, a dark undertone pervades as the story transitions to Allison’s viewpoint, where the action is depicted through a single-camera setup typically found in television dramas.
Despite speculation from some fans that AMC had canceled any possibility of a third season, the show had a total of 16 episodes and officially concluded in October 2022. However, it was always intended for Kevin Can F**ck Himself to be a two-season arc.
Murphy’s latest project, following his success with Schitt’s Creek, has finally received the recognition it deserves, as evidenced by its consistent rating of 91% on Rotten Tomatoes.
Kevin Can F**k Himself Seasons 1 and 2 can now be streamed on Netflix. Once you have finished watching, be sure to browse through the other new TV shows being streamed in August, as well as our guide to the top TV shows of 2024 thus far.
