Exciting News: Devil May Cry Anime Set to Premiere on Netflix in April 2025
One iconic gaming franchise making its way to the screen is Devil May Cry. After years of anticipation, fans can look forward to the series debuting on April 3, 2025.
Rooted in Capcom’s iconic video game series, Devil May Cry has garnered a dedicated fan base since its original release in 2001, recognized for its high-octane action, dynamic protagonist Dante, and its gothic horror vibe.
The franchise has seen numerous sequels, spin-offs, and even a previous anime adaptation in 2007. Now, Netflix is reintroducing it with a fresh animated series destined to captivate audiences.
Fans have been eagerly waiting for this project, which was announced by showrunner Adi Shankar back in 2018. Fortunately, the release is finally drawing near.
Shankar, recognized for producing Netflix’s successful Castlevania series, expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to lead the Devil May Cry project.“I’m honored that Netflix and Capcom have entrusted me to shepherd the Devil May Cry franchise, ” he noted.
“[Writer] Alex Larsen and I share a deep love for these characters and are determined to exceed the already high expectations we have set for ourselves.”
While specific plot details remain scarce, the animated series is set to follow demon hunter Dante as he confronts supernatural forces and unravels the dark mysteries surrounding his lineage.
The first season will consist of eight episodes, all released simultaneously—allowing fans to enjoy the series without waiting for weekly episodes. The episodes will become available at the typical time of 12 AM PT / 3 AM ET.
Notably, the series will feature voice talents such as Johnny Yong Bosch as Dante, Hoon Lee as White Rabbit, and Scout Taylor-Compton as Lady, ensuring an engaging experience for viewers.
