Despite her busy schedule promoting the upcoming Beetlejuice sequel, Stranger Things star Winona Ryder has still managed to make time to talk about her fellow cast members from the show and Netflix’s extensive security measures.

During an interview on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Ryder disclosed that the streaming service is determined to prevent any spoilers for Season 5 and has implemented a strict policy of immediately destroying scripts after they have been used by the actors.

“She expressed her frustration, stating, “I always keep every script and call sheet, and it’s difficult for me when they are taken away and destroyed. There have been times where I refuse to hand them over, saying ‘No, I’m not giving you this!’ It’s hard to believe that they are being shredded.”

On August 8, Netflix responded by stating [via the Wrap] that they were taking aggressive action to have the leaked content removed.

On Aug 14, 2024, Jace Johnson asked on X/Twitter, “Who wants Stranger Things?”Shortly after, they expressed concern for their account being attacked and their Telegram group being deleted, and mentioned the possibility of being sued. They stated that they would take a break to figure out where to post the next leak. In the end, the alleged Stranger Things episodes were not leaked.
