On August 28th, Lee Seung-hoon made a special appearance as the ceremonial pitcher at the Sajik Baseball Stadium in Dongnae-gu, Busan, during the game between the Lotte Giants and Hanwha Eagles. Being a native of Busan, he ignited the audience by exclaiming, “Here comes Lotte’s champion! Let’s hear it for the Victory Giants!”
Despite the initial excitement, it was short-lived as Lee Seung-hoon took a moment before throwing the pitch to perform a portion of the choreography from his recently released first solo album’s title track, “MY TYPE.”
A complaint has been filed against #WINNER ‘s #LeeSeungHoon because he… danced for 18 seconds before throwing the first pitch during the Lotte Giants vs Hanwha Eagles game. pic.twitter.com/B8bc6bpone

Despite catcher Son Seong-bin taking over the catching position twice, Lee Seung-hoon chose not to throw the ball and instead continued to dance. This raised suspicions that the performance may not have been planned in advance. Son Seong-bin was forced to chase the ball all the way to the net behind the dugout due to Lee Seung-hoon’s awkward pitch. This seemed to satisfy Lee Seung-hoon, which angered fans. Furthermore, it was observed that Lotte’s starting pitcher, Charlie Barnes, had to make adjustments to the mound before pitching, possibly as a result of the excessive performance.
Despite being a crucial match in the tight mid-standings battle against Hanwha, Lotte fans were left particularly displeased. Their disappointment was only amplified by Lotte’s unfortunate 7-0 loss.
Feedback on Lee Seung-hoon’s social media post of his pitch video sparked a mix of reactions. Some viewers criticized his actions, stating that dancing on the mound was inconsiderate and that he should not have disrupted the game. They also pointed out that the baseball field should be reserved for the players as the main stars. On the other hand, there were also positive comments, with some defending Lee and stating that he should not be blamed for the team’s loss. Others found the pitch to be enjoyable and full of cheer.
