New Anime and Its Similarities to Planet of the Apes: A Discussion of its Absurd Question

Although not currently an anime, Planet of the Apes has a manga adaptation that closely resembles it in The Darwin Incident. This popular series has been confirmed for an upcoming adaptation, sparking the interest of fans who are eager to see how it will be portrayed.

The novel, The Darwin Incident, follows the journey of Charlie, a unique being who is a mix of human and chimpanzee. Raised by humans for 15 years, Charlie possesses human-like intelligence and even attends high school. However, his past catches up with him when he is recruited by animal rights activists, reminding him of his origin when his mother was found pregnant in a laboratory.

Doesn’t it remind you of the intelligent ape premise from 2011’s Rise of the Planet of the Apes? The ongoing manga by Shun Umezawa is currently being adapted into an anime series, and amidst the excitement, some people have other thoughts on their minds.

On Reddit, a fan inquired, “Who had intercourse with the primate???”Another person then posed the question, “Was this a case of playing god, or did someone engage in intimate activities with a monkey?”These were some of the questions raised regarding the announcement of the anime adaptation of “The Darwin Incident.”

Despite appearing childish, it is a valid inquiry. The story has yet to delve into Charlie’s origin, as the scientist responsible for creating him disappeared when their secret base was raided.

There are only two viable possibilities: either the professor resorted to artificial insemination (the more likely scenario), or he committed unspeakable acts on his chimpanzee subject.

Despite being a story about logistics, The Darwin Incident has quickly become one of the most highly anticipated anime for many due to its depth and complexity.

According to a fan on Reddit, this is a thought-provoking tale that takes place in an alternate USA, delving into themes such as PETA extremists, animal welfare, unethical scientific experimentation, and the role of a chimpanzee-human hybrid in human society.

The Darwin Incident series currently does not have a set release window. While waiting, you can check out our guides on the upcoming Tower of God Season 2 and the release date for the Haikyuu!! movie, which are both highly anticipated anime releases for this year.
