A recently released anime, created by Nakaba Suzuki, the creator of The Seven Deadly Sins, is now available on Netflix. However, this series contains fewer dungeons and dragons compared to his previous work.
Rising Impact is a sports anime focused on golf that debuted on Netflix on Friday, June 21, 2024. The series is based on Nakaba Suzuki’s first manga, although it is quite different from her subsequent works.
The plot centers on Gawain Nanaumi, a gifted golfer at a young age. Initially, he aspires to pursue a career in baseball, but a golf professional recognizes his exceptional swing and convinces him to focus on the sport, igniting a passion within Nanaumi.
The original manga was first published in 1998 and concluded in 2002, marking a span of over 25 years. This marks Nakabi’s second collaboration with Netflix, following the immense success of The Seven Deadly Sins, which included four seasons and multiple anime films.
Despite this, it is more in line with Nakabi’s typical style compared to Seven Deadly Sins. This is evident in his other works such as Chiguhagu Lovers and Blizzard Axel, which also incorporate elements of sports. On the other hand, Kongō Banchō stands out as a thriller that revolves around gang violence.
The success of Rising Impact in capturing the attention of viewers is yet to be determined, but the 12-episode first season is currently available for viewing. Additionally, Nakabi has been working on a follow-up to The Seven Deadly Sins titled Four Knights of the Apocalypse, which debuted on Netflix in January 2024.
