The fourth installment of the Bad Boys film series, now titled Bad Boys: Ride or Die, has just released its explosive first trailer, but fans are already divided.
After the success of Bad Boys for Life in 2020, Will Smith and Martin Lawrence reprise their roles as Mike and Marcus for a new mission in Miami. This time, it is Captain Howard, played by Joe Pantoliano, who is accused of corruption and collaborating with drug cartels. This is why our power duo is going to investigate, in order to find out “how far this shit goes” .
The trailer is jam-packed with guns, explosions, and nods to the original films, whether it’s Mike sprinting down the highway, the abundance of Skittles, or even the duo grappling with rednecks armed to the teeth.
And that’s precisely it: the fourth film sees the return of directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, thus leaving aside Michael Bay, the director of the first two parts of the saga, who was still entitled to a brief appearance in the third opus during a cameo. An absence which has rightly been pointed out by certain Internet users, as evidenced by the messages that we can see on this subject on X (formerly Twitter):
They need Michael bay back lol https://t.co/prvdekRtuW

“Michael Bay needs to come back”
This looks better than the last one. It’s funny they’re still trying to have the Michael Bay look without him lol https://t.co/Mmt1ISoZoX

Gotta say that these new directors are pretty good at copying Bay’s style but Michael Bay will always remain Michael Bay https://t.co/HRLb6ozMha

“I have to say these new directors are pretty good at copying Bay’s style but Michael Bay will always be Michael Bay”
Others were impressed by the trailer, believing that it remained faithful to the famous American director’s over-the-top style.
Take my money now. BAD BOYS II is one of my all-time favorite action films. This reminds me of Michael Bay’s sequel. Hell yes. https://t.co/qWWPDDD2oS

Sony actually gave Arbi and Fallah a budget this time and now they are embracing Michael Bay’s style. We are so fucking back https://t.co/ZybHCqkw1k
