New Baldur’s Gate 3 Ending Coming in Patch 7 is Most Diabolical Yet

Larian Studios has recently hinted at a new “The Matrix”style ending that will be included in Patch 7. This has sparked excitement among players who are already eagerly anticipating its release.

As of March 2024, Larian Studios has announced that they are currently working on creating more “really evil endings”for Baldur’s Gate 3. With the release of Patch 7 for Baldur’s Gate 3 approaching, players can now get a sneak peek of what to expect in the upcoming update through a newly released 32-second teaser for an evil ending.

The footage starts by showing a group of citizens who appeared to be transformed into tadpoles, huddled together and visibly in pain. The camera then focuses on one individual, revealing that they had somehow been transported to a different world where everything was surprisingly tranquil.

Despite appearances of contentment in their seemingly ‘happy’ lives, there is no chaos or pain. However, this sense of peace is merely an illusion, as those with infected minds know all too well. As the clip ends, the eerie effect is heightened by the haunting echoes of the game’s Down by the River song.

Upon examining a previous teaser of one of the upcoming malevolent conclusions, we observe the original Dark Urge positioned in front of the submissive audience and snapping their fingers prior to the commencement of this footage.

After the reveal, players expressed their excitement in a Reddit thread, with many comparing it to the “Matrix ending”and even drawing parallels to a scene in Naruto Shippuden.

A user compared the situation to the Matrix, where individuals are manipulated into living in a false utopia. They speculated that this could be one of the less malicious outcomes, where the goal is control and authority rather than instilling fear and causing death.

“One user expressed their admiration for the use of this concept in fiction and the clever incorporation of a musical refrain in the whistle, rating it as A+.”

“A Reddit user joined in, mentioning the chaotic effects of the Infinite Tsukuyomi. This is a genjutsu from Naruto Shippuden that ensnares living beings in an alternate dimension or a delusional state.”
