New Batman TV Show: 100% Rotten Tomatoes Score Now Streaming

Originally proposed as a revival of the beloved animated series and set after the events of the late ’90s New Batman Adventures, Caped Crusader was intended to capture the magic of one of the greatest superhero TV shows ever created.

In 2021, it was revealed that Matt Reeves and JJ Abrams would be collaborating on a new Batman series for HBO Max, with Bruce Timm from DC serving as the showrunner.

Following an unexpected turn of events, Warner Bros decided to scrap its plans for a streaming service and instead seek another distributor to release its content. Prime Video quickly acquired the rights and has already confirmed a second season for the show.

The show is described as a “reimagining of the Batman mythology”, offering a new perspective on Bruce Wayne’s vigilantism in Gotham.

Hamish Linklater, known for his roles in Midnight Mass and Legion, has been chosen to voice Batman following the passing of Kevin Conroy in 2022. He will continue the legacy of the dark knight as his successor.

The cast of the show includes Diedrich Bader as Harvey Dent, Eric Morgan Stuart as Commissioner Gordon, Krystal Joy Brown as Barbara Gordon, John DiMaggio as Bullock, Jason Watkins as Alfred Pennyworth, Christina Ricci as Selina Kyle/Catwoman, and Jamie Chung as Harleen Quinzel/Harley Quinn. Additionally, Minnie Driver lends her voice to a female version of the Penguin.

Receiving unanimous acclaim, it currently holds a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. According to The Daily Beast’s review of Caped Crusader, they stated that it could possibly be Batman’s greatest on-screen performance yet, reaffirming his position as the most captivating and suave hero in the genre.
