This scene has ignited debate among fans of both Bleach and Jujutsu Kaisen. Some Jujutsu Kaisen enthusiasts see parallels between Ichibei’s technique and Sukuna’s Domain Expansion: Malevolent Shrine, leading to accusations of inspiration being taken from Akutami’s series.
However, Bleach supporters swiftly highlight that Bleach debuted years before Jujutsu Kaisen. Ichibei unleashed Futen Taisatsuryō in Bleach Chapter 610, released in 2014, which predates Jujutsu Kaisen’s debut in 2018 by four years.
Therefore, it’s improbable that Ichibei’s ability was derived from Sukuna’s techniques. Conversely, it’s possible that Malevolent Shrine drew inspiration from Futen Taisatsuryō, especially given Akutami’s acknowledgment of being a fan of Kubo’s work.
The rivalry continues, with fans from both sides exchanging jabs. One user commented, “Who else was thinking about domain expansion?”
Another remarked, “That bald guy copied Sukuna’s Malevolent Shrine. Bleach is ripping off JJK now, that’s crazy,” sparking fiery responses.
One fan noted, “Bleach manga ended less than 2 years before JJK manga started, and Domain Expansions are inspired by Bankai from Bleach. Sukuna’s Malevolent Shrine is inspired by the bald guy’s shrine technique.”
Another added, “This scene came out in the manga before JJK even started lmao. It was from 2014 lol. They are yapping without the facts.”
