New Capri Sun Juices for Adults Spark Controversy Among Fans

According to reports, Capri Sun is introducing its signature juices in plastic bottles targeted towards adults. However, fans are uncertain about their thoughts on this change.

Although it was first launched in Germany in 1969, Capri Sun did not make its way to the United States until 1979, ten years later. Its popularity soared and in 1991, Kraft acquired the brand, and has since been working to expand and enhance its offerings.

Over the years, the iconic juice pouches have become a staple in almost every kid’s life. This could be attributed to their signature flavors or their inclusion as the drink of choice in Lunchables.

After achieving decades of success in the United States, the drink is currently in the process of revamping its packaging and is expected to launch the juice in a 12oz plastic bottle catered towards adults in the near future.

On August 28, 2024, the popular Instagram account Snackolator, which is known for its focus on snacks, revealed that the news had been announced for the upcoming National Association of Convenience Stores trade show in October.

“According to their announcement for the upcoming NACS show, Capri Sun is expanding their market to include adults with the release of new bottles, which will be available in stores soon. The initial launch will feature at least three flavors – Fruit Punch, Strawberry Kiwi, and Pacific Cooler.”

Each bottle holds 12oz and eliminates the need to search for the straw insertion point and risk it shooting back at you.

Capri Sun has previously explored alternative packaging options for its beverages. In 2003, the brand introduced ‘Island Refreshers’ in a 16oz metal bottle.

Just like the new plastic bottles, it was initially targeted towards adults rather than children, but production ended just a few years later. However, they recently revealed that they will be releasing larger bottles in May 2024, still featuring the iconic pouch design on the label.

The response to the news has been divided. While numerous customers are pleased about not having to deal with the pouches, some remain unconvinced that it will be as enjoyable without the use of a straw.

One user responded, saying, “I will definitely keep an eye out for those!”

One person exclaimed, “At last! I’ve been consuming the pouch as if I’m still 6 years old.”

A third person commented that it simply wouldn’t be the same without the straw.

Recently, there has been a significant amount of viral news surrounding the beverage industry, including a collaboration between Oreo and Coca-Cola. This partnership will result in the release of an Oreo-flavored soda in September 2024.
