In Apex Legends Season 22, Respawn introduced a mode that has been well-received by players as it allows them to relax and hone their mechanics without having to join a live game.
The new mode, Bot Royale, was introduced to provide beginners with a chance to practice their skills against a smaller group of bot opponents while familiarizing themselves with Apex Legends. The rules remain the same as the main Battle Royale mode, but with a shorter game duration.
It is unexpected that experienced players are the ones who have praised the mode as a “relaxing”way to play games. On Reddit, a player shared their experience of constantly being “overwhelmed”in matches and how they were looking for a more enjoyable way to play Apex.
In a recent post, a player shared their experience of playing Bot Royale last night. They tried their best and had a great time, with no overly competitive players present, except for themselves.
Bot Royale is not full of just Pathfinders, but other Legends as well.
Despite anticipating being heavily downvoted, the poster’s sentiment was echoed by numerous other Apex Legends players who saw the mode as a necessary reprieve from the relentless competitiveness.
“According to one user, Apex’s biggest deficit was the lack of a mode where players could improve without becoming infuriated.”
The mode received praise from players for enabling them to experiment with Legends they typically wouldn’t dedicate time to, due to their fear of underperforming against actual opponents.
Despite the mode’s popularity, some players have found one flaw in its ease, suggesting that a difficulty slider could improve the intelligence of bot teammates and enemies.
According to one player, during the only game I played, my bot teammates simultaneously jumped into the lava and perished without attempting to escape. While I am open to a more relaxed game mode with less challenging opponents, it would be interesting if there was an option to adjust the difficulty level.
In general, players of Apex Legends are pleased with Season 22 and its additional content, map, and modes, with only a few minor grievances expressed.
