New College Football 25 Update Introduces Highly Anticipated Dynasty Mode Feature

In a recent minor update for College Football 25, players discovered a hidden feature that allows the addition of player numbers in Dynasty mode. This update, which didn’t come with official patch notes, has generated excitement among players.

Initially, the minor patch released on Aug. 29 enabled the editing of ratings for non-NIL players and recruits in Dynasty mode, but it frustrated many that the ability to edit player numbers was missing. This oversight led to issues with quarterbacks and other positions having incorrect numbers. Some players attempted to find workarounds to change numbers, but they were limited in their options.

Fortunately, those days of exploits are over. CFB 25 content creator Bordeaux confirmed that the latest update now permits players to edit numbers for non-NIL athletes in offline Dynasties, although it does not extend to online saves.

NIL players, or athletes who consented to have their name and likeness featured in the game, can still have their ratings adjusted, but only computer-generated recruits in Dynasty mode can have their numbers changed.

The Team Builder feature still allows players to create their ideal football team complete with custom uniforms, stadiums, and players. However, the inability to edit uniform numbers persists, as this update did not address that issue.

Some players expressed their disappointment, with one stating, “That still sucks because I can only use my Team Builder team online.”

Despite the limitations, many players welcomed the long-awaited improvement. One user noted relief at their five-star quarterback no longer wearing an inappropriate number.

Fortunately, players do not need to start a new Dynasty to enjoy this feature, as it applies to existing saves. The community has voiced curiosity regarding the absence of this feature in online dynasties, with one commenter emphasizing the need for it.
