Despite initial suspicions of NewJeans’ Hyein dissing ILLIT during their debut, further investigation has debunked these claims and revealed the true reason behind her post.

Despite the ongoing controversy, it is widely known that HYBE and ADOR are currently facing some challenges. In response to HYBE Labels’ allegations of ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin’s alleged attempts to take control of the label and break away from HYBE, Min Hee Jin has defended herself, stating that the root of the conflict lies in HYBE and BELIFT Lab’s alleged plagiarism of NewJeans for ILLIT’s debut.

Following this disclosure, NewJeans’ current and past actions are under intense scrutiny. A particular incident that has drawn attention is a photo of Hyein which appeared to be indirectly criticizing ILLIT. However, the validity of this claim is yet to be determined. Suspected Shading of ILLIT by NewJeans Hyein

On March 25, 2024, Hyein posted a series of photos on Phoning, NewJeans’s fan community.

Among the photos shared, one stood out in particular. It depicted Haerin lying on the couch with the words “Stop copying”displayed beside her. Interestingly, the date on which Hyein uploaded the photos coincides with ILLIT’s debut date.

Recently, Min Hee Jin, the CEO of ADOR, made allegations against HYBE Labels and BELIFT Lab for allegedly imitating NewJeans’s concept for ILLIT’s debut. According to her, all aspects of ILLIT’s debut, such as hairstyles, makeup, stage costumes, dancers, teasers, videos, and event appearances, were copied from NewJeans.

As a result, Hyein’s inclusion of the phrase “stop copying”in her photo sparked a controversy online, with many interpreting it as her support for Min Hee Jin and allegations against ILLIT for plagiarism.

New Report: Hyein’s Alleged Diss Against ILLIT Debunked

According to followers of NewJeans, Haerin is often referred to as the “copy cat”of the group due to her tendency to imitate the other members. As a result, the phrase “Stop copying, Haerin”has become a popular meme among the group and their fan base. Keeping this in mind, many fans believe that Hyein was playfully referencing this inside joke by including the phrase “Don’t copy”in a picture featuring Haerin.

Despite efforts by Bunnies to clarify that the phrase “Stop copying”was meant as a harmless joke among members, there are still netizens who remain unconvinced and believe it was a deliberate attack on ILLIT. Bunnies want to emphasize that there was no ill intent behind the phrase and it should not be taken seriously.

The first comeback for NewJeans is set for 2024, with a double single release on May 24. A pre-release single is also planned for April 27.
