Monster Hunter Wilds demonstrates its status as the definitive installment of the series by announcing the removal of gender restrictions for armor, solidifying its position as the pinnacle of the franchise.
As a Monster Hunter fan, there is no better time to be excited than during the anticipation of a new release. This is especially true for the upcoming release of Monster Hunter Wilds.
Capcom has been gradually releasing information to potential players about upcoming characters, unusual Monsters, and updates to the franchise’s well-known weapons. Following a period of anticipation since the previous major information release, Gamescom 2024 has provided us with a plethora of fresh information regarding Monster Hunter Wilds.
One of the most thrilling aspects is a highly requested feature from Monster Hunter fans. The developers of Monster Hunter Wilds have officially announced that it will be the first installment in the franchise to eliminate gender-specific armor.
“During the Gamescom 2024 Monster Hunter Wilds developer stream, Series Producer Ryozo Tsujimoto announced that in previous Monster Hunter games, there was a distinction between male and female armor. However, he confirmed that this distinction will no longer exist in Monster Hunter Wilds, as all characters will be able to wear any type of gear.”
As experienced players of the franchise may be aware, armor for male characters tends to have a heavier and more bulky appearance, while female armor tends to expose more skin. While this may not bother some players, others may find it distracting when facing formidable enemies such as the fire-breathing Rathalos or poison-spewing Pukei Pukei without adequate protection.
The recent update enables players to create armor for both male and female characters and equip them regardless of their chosen gender.
This allows your female characters to wear more durable armor if that is your preference. In contrast, male characters will not have to wear Kirin armor in order to show some skin.
The highly anticipated release of Monster Hunter Wilds is scheduled for 2025, and it is expected to mark the beginning of a new era of unlimited fashion hunting.
