New Features Added to Discord for Xbox

Discord is releasing a recent update for users of Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One, which will enhance the ease of voice calling and viewing friends’ streams.

Discord revealed its plans to introduce new features for PS5 users last month in order to enhance its performance on the Sony console. Recently, the company has also announced that Xbox X/S and Xbox One users will be included in the upcoming “Friends List”update.

As a result of the update, the Xbox Friends list will now have a new feature called “Happening now.”This feature will display any of your friends who are currently playing games or chatting on Discord.

The update to the Friends list will provide additional means for monitoring the activities of your Discord friends from your Xbox console. This will involve displaying any mutual servers or friends that you both share.

Discord brings voice calling to Xbox

This update will allow users to make voice calls to their Discord friends directly from their Xbox Series X/S or Xbox One console. This eliminates the need for the previous cumbersome method of setting up voice calls on Xbox consoles using the Discord smartphone app.

The latest update now allows for the option to stream Discord content directly on your Xbox console. This feature enables users to view gaming streams from their friends on the Xbox, regardless of whether they are shared from a PC or smartphone.

Once you have chosen a friend’s profile, a “Watch Stream”option will become available. By selecting this option, you can view their stream in full-screen without the need for a smartphone. Simply sit back and enjoy watching their stream.

In the upcoming weeks, the latest updates will gradually be made available to Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One users. However, for those who are eager to try them out, Discord will initially be offering them to members of the Xbox Insider program.

In order to gain early access to the latest Xbox updates and features before the general public, you must be at least 18. However, once you have signed up, there are no other requirements.
