EA FC 25’s new slipping animation will surely bring up painful memories for Liverpool fans, so it’s best to look away.
EA FC 25 has added new animations, resulting in players occasionally slipping after making a forceful pass on wet and slippery surfaces. EA clarified that these animations will only occur during matches with rainy or snowy conditions in non-competitive modes.
Despite being purely visual and having no impact on the outcome of passes or shots, the reminder of slipping continues to haunt Liverpool fans.
The trailer for the feature released by EA only served to intensify the negative memories, as it featured Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold falling to the ground. However, in order to fully grasp the unfortunate link between fans and slipping, we must go back to 2013.
Despite their impressive 16-game win streak, Liverpool’s hopes of winning the 2013-14 Premier League title were dashed with just three matches left. The Reds, who hadn’t won a league title since the 1989-90 season, held a five-point lead but ultimately fell short in their pursuit.
