New GTA 6 Release Hint Revealed by Rockstar Employee

Recent insights from a Rockstar Games employee shed light on the much-anticipated release of GTA 6 amidst circulating rumors of a possible delay. The gaming community is eager for updates, especially since it has been over a year since Rockstar unveiled the first look at the game, which marks the highly anticipated return to Vice City and follows protagonists Jason and Lucia.

During the initial announcement, Rockstar indicated that the next installment in the Grand Theft Auto franchise would launch in the latter part of 2025. While no specific date was given, the company referred to a holiday 2025 timeframe. This prolonged silence since the announcement has left fans anxious and demanding further details.

Concerns Over Potential Delays

Reports from industry insider Jason Schreier suggested that Rockstar faced challenges, having reportedly missed several deadlines due to a major overhaul of the game’s infrastructure, similar to that of GTA Online. He expressed skepticism, noting it would not be surprising if the release were pushed back to 2026. These comments have intensified apprehensions among the gaming community regarding the game’s release timeline.

Despite these concerns, Rockstar has yet to officially alter its release window, with some employees disputing the rumors of a delay. Recently, Eilidh MacInnes, a Talent Acquisition Specialist at Rockstar North, reiterated this sentiment. She made a LinkedIn post highlighting “exciting” job openings at the company, which included the artwork for GTA 6 prominently featuring “coming 2025.”

The ongoing mention of 2025 in Rockstar’s communications suggests that no definitive decision about a delay has been reached yet. However, industry analyst and former GTA developer Obbe Vermeij pointed out that the team likely won’t have clarity on whether a delay is necessary until around May 2025. Thus, the gaming community must remain patient as further announcements are awaited.
