New GTA 6 Trailer Hinted at in Recent GTA Online Update, Fans Divided

Could the latest GTA Online update potentially reveal the release date for the second GTA 6 trailer? Although there are hopeful fans who strongly believe so, the ‘teaser’ has caused a rift within the community.

Since the confirmation from Rockstar that GTA 6 was in active development, dedicated fans of the series have been meticulously dissecting any and all information related to the renowned studio. Whether it’s a mere update for one of their other games or a puzzling post on social media, every detail is scrutinized as a potential hint towards the highly anticipated GTA sequel.

It has been more than six months since the initial release of the first GTA 6 trailer, which received an overwhelming response. As time has passed, further analysis is being conducted, and some fans are now looking closely at a specific shot in the trailer following a seemingly unimportant GTA Online update, believing it to be a hint at what’s to come.

A social media post on July 26 announced the addition of a “Pegassi Pizza Boy scooter”to the multiplayer component of the game as part of a community challenge. In the brief trailer, a shot of the vehicle’s San Andreas-based license plate is revealed within the first five seconds.

The license plate in question spells out “pizza,”with the letter “a”replaced by the number “4.”Additionally, there is a sticker in the top left corner indicating the month of October. As a result, many have interpreted this as a clear clue.

If the second GTA 6 trailer is released on October 4, 2024, it would result in a 304-day time span between GTA 6 footage. While this is currently only speculation from fans, it is not uncommon for Rockstar to tease their community, causing fans to come up with various theories.

Despite the license plate, it is important to mention that this specific combination of letters and numbers has been used before. It has been revealed that this license plate has been featured on scooters in GTA 5 since the game was first released in 2013.

There may or may not be any developments from this teaser, and we will need to be patient and see. However, according to other recent speculations, the release of Trailer 2 is likely to occur in early August, as the next Take-Two Interactive earnings call is set for August 8. This strategic move of aligning the next wave of excitement for GTA 6 around an earnings call is certainly a clever way to capitalize on the popularity of the franchise.

Some people find this latest wave of speculation to be excessive. “Can we please just stop?”exclaimed one frustrated fan on Reddit. “The trailer will be released when it’s ready, there’s no need to search for hidden clues in images or social media posts or from the previous trailer.”

Some retaliated, reminding this player that Rockstar has a tendency to playfully taunt its fanbase before the release of new games.

“What does it matter if [they’re] being delusional? There’s no harm in speculating and coming up with fun theories about this, it’s all part of the game,”one player added.

Despite the recent SAG-AFTRA video game actor strike posing a potential threat to its development, the highly-anticipated title of the generation, GTA 6, is still on schedule for its expected release in late 2025. As we eagerly await the next step on the road to its release, we are all in the same boat.
