The creator of The Conjuring, James Wan, is set to executive produce **Teacup**, a new horror series on Peacock that blends elements reminiscent of **From** and **Yellowstone**.
Peacock has unveiled the first official trailer for the eagerly anticipated series, **Teacup**, which is scheduled to debut on the streaming platform this fall, specifically on **Thursday, October 10, 2024**.
**Teacup** is inspired by Robert McCammon’s New York Times bestselling novel **Stinger**, and is set in the rural landscape of Georgia. The narrative follows a group of unlikely allies who must unite to survive against a looming mysterious threat.
The atmosphere conveyed in the debut trailer closely mirrors that of MGM+’s **From**. Simultaneously, the series’ rural setting is likely to evoke memories of **Yellowstone**.
This synergy comes as no surprise, since former **Yellowstone** producer Ian McCulloch is serving as the showrunner for **Teacup**.
The trailer escalates tension, starting with farm animals that appear disturbed by an unseen force. While it initially suggests an impending storm is unsettling the creatures, a young boy warns his mother of a trap, hinting at a more sinister underlying presence.
**James Wan**, the mastermind behind The Conjuring Universe, will be executive producing for **Atomic Monster**, alongside Michael Clear (known for **Archive 81**) and Rob Hackett (from **I Know What You Did Last Summer**).
**E.L. Katz**, who has directed episodes of **Bly Manor** and **Swamp Thing**, will helm the first two episodes of the **Teacup** series.
The horror series boasts an impressive cast, including **Scott Speedman** from **The Strangers**, **Yvonne Strahovski** of **The Handmaid’s Tale**, and **Chaske Spencer** from **Jessica Jones**.
James Wan expressed his enthusiasm for the project, stating: “After reading Robert McCammon’s book **Stinger**, the entire team at Atomic Monster felt a spark. The story had all the ingredients for a captivating series, and Ian McCulloch had a vision to bring it to life in a fresh way that was both startling and darkly atmospheric, but filled with a rich sense of humanity — often lacking in edgy narratives…”
Mark your calendars, as the new horror series **Teacup** will premiere its first two episodes on **Peacock** on **Thursday, October 10, 2024**.
