New Information on the Upcoming iPhone 16 Case Design

According to reports, Apple is planning to introduce a new feature with the iPhone 16 known as the “Capture Button.” A recent leak indicates that phone cases will be designed to accommodate this new button.

The upcoming iPhone 16 series is anticipated to bring about several design modifications. The regular iPhone 16 and 16 Plus may receive a revised camera arrangement, while the Pro versions may have crisper bezels. It is speculated that all four iPhones will include the newly introduced Capture Button.

The button will have a flat design that uses capacitance to sense touch, leading to concerns about how case makers will adjust to this new feature. However, as per X user Duan Rui, Apple has already developed a solution for their own cases.

Duan Rui confirms that the upcoming iPhone 16 cases from Apple will not feature a distinct cutout for the Capture button. Instead, the company has opted for an “integrated design”that ensures the capacitive surface of the Capture button functions seamlessly, eliminating the need for a separate cutout.

It has been reported that the iPhone 16 will have a new button that allows users to use a swipe gesture to zoom in and out on its surface. Additionally, the Capture button can be pressed lightly to focus the image and pressed harder to take the photo, similar to a DSLR. If this feature sounds familiar, you are not the only one.

The iPhone 16 is reported to have its button located on the right side, similar to the placement of the mmWave 5G antenna on iPhone 15 models.

The upcoming “It’s Glowtime”event hosted by Apple on September 9 will showcase the highly anticipated iPhone 16 lineup. In addition to the new iPhones, the event is expected to unveil the Watch 10 series and new AirPods.

There is speculation about a potential unveiling of a new iPad Mini at the same event. Some sources also suggest the possibility of an announcement for the iPhone SE 4, although this seems doubtful.
