New Jeans Takes Over Korean and Japanese Charts with Record-Breaking Sales of Supernatural

Based on Hanteo Chart, the debut single “Supernatural”by NewJeans ranked first on the album chart. The single sold a total of 685,753 copies on its release day, June 21st.

It is rare for a Japanese single to reach the top of the Korean album chart, but this accomplishment occurred only a month after the release of their previous million-selling album “How Sweet”.

The title track, also named the same, was highly popular in Japan, reaching the top spot on real-time charts of major music sites such as Line Music’s “Top 100″and AWA’s rising chart.

The popularity of “Supernatural”extends to Korean music sites as well. Within just one hour of its release, the song reached 34th place on Melon’s “Top 100″chart. By midnight on June 22nd, it had risen to 13th place.

The b-side track “Right Now” also made its way onto the charts, proving that NewJeans’ distinct appeal has once again struck a chord with listeners. Their music continues to resonate with individuals regardless of language, showcasing its universal appeal.

The success of “Supernatural”is expected to reach a global scale as well. The album has already reached the top spot on the iTunes “Top Albums”chart in seven countries and regions, such as Japan, Hong Kong, and Singapore. Additionally, it has also secured the 3rd position on the “Worldwide iTunes Albums”chart.

The music video is generating a lot of buzz and is currently in 4th place on YouTube’s “Most Viewed Videos in 24 Hours”list.

Furthermore, NewJeans is set to make an appearance on Nippon TV’s “with MUSIC”show on June 22nd.
