On Thursday, Netflix unveiled a video confirming the television anime adaptation of Yuuto Suzuki‘s Sakamoto Days manga, with its premiere scheduled for January 2025. This also marks the anime’s debut on Japanese television during the same month.

Sakamoto Days To Kick Start 2025 With a Bang

The ongoing manga by Yuto Suzuki, Sakamoto Days, will officially debut as an anime exclusive on Netflix in January 2025. With its release set for early next year, this anime is poised to be one of the first must-watch shows on the platform.

The teaser video prepared by Netflix for Sakamoto Days reflects the high expectations from fans of the original manga series. Its visual style and ambiance also resonate with broader anime fans, even those unfamiliar with Sakamoto Days. The episodes are expected to present two sharply contrasting visuals: a darker past where Sakamoto was a ruthless professional, and a much lighter narrative focusing on the character’s humorous transformation, where he has gained weight yet still retains his formidable fighting skills.

The preview released by Netflix emphasizes the eagerly anticipated nature of the upcoming series among Sakamoto Days fans. Nevertheless, its artistic flair has the potential to attract various anime enthusiasts, whether or not they have prior knowledge of the manga. Expect visuals showcasing a somber backstory where Sakamoto was a fierce assassin and a light-hearted present in which he grapples with his new lifestyle while still adeptly dispatching foes using his trained muscle memory.
