New Pokemon Horizons TCG Special Set Releasing Soon – But There’s a Catch

The TCG has recently unveiled a special set from The Pokemon Company, but obtaining the included cards may prove to be a challenge for players and collectors.

According to an article by PokeBeach, a Pokemon Horizons: The Series-themed TCG set will be released on August 2 to coincide with the promotion of the anime. This release date also aligns with the release of Stellar Miracle, the seventh expansion in the Scarlet & Violet era of the TCG in Japan.

The only catch is that the tie-in has only been announced for Taiwan and Hong Kong, with no plans for release in North America or Europe. If no alternative is made available in these regions, Western fans will have to resort to importing or purchasing from third-party sellers in order to obtain them.

As of now, only one official product has been announced: a blister pack that includes 10 Stellar Miracle packs, a jumbo card for Terapagos and Friends, and promo cards for Sprigatito and Fuecoco. These two cards are reprints from Paldea Evolved that feature artwork from the Horizons anime series.

The special set’s release will coincide with Stellar Miracle on August 2

According to precedent, it is possible that The Pokemon Company will include the Horizons cards in their Stellar Miracle products for Japan, but this is merely speculation.

Similarly, it has not yet been announced what the English language equivalent of Stellar Miracle will be, thus it is uncertain if these promotions will be incorporated.

The upcoming English set, Shrouded Fable, will feature cards from Japan’s Night Wanderer expansion. Collectors have taken note of the previous set, Twilight Masquerade, which was released on May 24 and has gained a reputation for having “brutal”pull rates.

Regarding other TCG updates, The Pokemon Company has taken action against several entrants in the 2024 Illustration contest due to suspicions of AI art being used in their submissions. According to a statement released by the company, those found to be in violation of the contest rules have been disqualified.
