According to WoW dataminers, there is evidence in The War Within’s public alpha test that suggests the possibility of a new Allied race.
The alpha testing phase for World of Warcraft’s upcoming expansion, The War Within, began on April 18. Each week of testing will be dedicated to a different zone.
The team of dataminers at Wowhead has thoroughly searched through the alpha’s files and discovered evidence of a previously unknown race known as the Harronir. Through their exploration, the publication also revealed an extensive selection of customization options associated with this enigmatic race.
The Harronir’s high level of customization has sparked speculation that they could potentially be an unannounced Allied race in Blizzard’s game. This is supported by the fact that previous expansions have seen the introduction of playable races, such as the Nightborne and Vulpera, which were originally NPCs with a high level of customization.
It is also speculated by Wowhead that the Harronir will be encountered in high-level zones. This assumption is based on the fact that the race incorporates design elements reminiscent of Elves, Trolls, and Venthyr.
Furthermore, the datamine also uncovered a quest item called Hannan’s Scythe, which is described as a weapon with the ability to absorb and reuse nature magic. This observation strongly suggests that the Harronir are well-versed in the use of nature magic, which is the primary source of power for the Druids.
Despite the lack of inclusion of the Harronir in marketing materials for WoW: The War Within, it is uncertain when Blizzard will officially reveal the new race.
If the race launches with the expansion, players may not have to wait much longer to learn more. The War Within is expected to be released by late 2024.
