New Ramen Flavors Designed for Gaming and Snacking

A recently launched concept by a Japanese company targets gamers and combines two unlikely ingredients.

Nippon Ham is a Japanese company that specializes in protein-based foods, such as fresh meat and processed goods.

Recently, a unique idea has been introduced which entails mixing ramen noodles with caffeine. This particular type of ramen, inspired by Taipa-style cuisine, was developed by a skilled gamer who desired to consume ramen while gaming.

The product, officially known as Boost Noodles, is available in a 16mm pouch and is comprised of cut noodles, along with a combination of roast pork and bamboo shoots in a jelly-like broth made from rich seafood and pork bones.

The product was designed with the input of gamers in order to ensure easy consumption by meeting a series of specific requirements.

Nippon Ham clarifies that the product is specifically designed for gamers who want to keep their valuable gaming equipment clean, enjoy the convenience of one-handed eating while playing, and prefer a more substantial meal-like option rather than a jelly drink or beverage.

According to a 2022 study, 42% of professional gamers have concerns about their mental health. Therefore, this information may be particularly important for gamers, as proper nutrition is crucial for maintaining good mental health.

Prior to Boost Noodles, there have been other products that combined caffeine and noodles. In 2023, Nissin also introduced their own version of protein pots with added caffeine. However, Boost Noodles stands out as the first variety that can be conveniently eaten with one hand.

The company emphasized the significance of this design factor, stating that due to the widespread use of smartphones, there is a growing need for easily consumable food that can be eaten with one hand.
