New Report Hack for Warzone & Black Ops 6 Cheaters Can Result in Bans

The ongoing issue of cheating in Call of Duty: Warzone and Black Ops 6 has taken a concerning turn, as hackers have seemingly discovered a new method that allows them to spam report other players, potentially leading to unwanted shadow bans.

Despite the introduction of the Ricochet anti-cheat system several years ago, the battle against cheaters remains challenging. While Ricochet has successfully banned hundreds of thousands of suspicious accounts, innocent gamers often find themselves caught in the crossfire, resulting in temporary shadow bans rather than permanent exclusions from the game.

These shadow bans are designed to limit the effectiveness of cheaters, but when applied to legitimate players, they frustrate the gaming experience by making it difficult to find suitable matches.

The Rise of Mass Reporting Tools

Recent reports indicate that cheaters now have access to tools that enable them to report an account en masse, which increases the likelihood of shadow bans significantly. This troubling development was brought to light by Warzone professional player Fifakill on December 23, where he stated, “The cheaters now have a tool where they can send 100x reports with one button press. I’ve seen it all.”

Content creators like IceManIsaac have also commented on the persistence of this issue, noting that such reporting tools have existed for years. “Idk if anyone has the old tweets, but we’ve seen pics of the cheater’s dashboard for ‘Report 100 Times’ years ago… COD still sticking with their beloved shadowban system though,” he remarked.

While the developers of Call of Duty have asserted that mass reporting does not result in shadow bans, skepticism remains among players. Many have mocked these claims, especially after reports indicated that 20,000 cheaters had been suspended recently.

Looking ahead, developers have promised that further enhancements to the Ricochet system will be implemented in 2025, which raises hope that the ongoing issues with cheating and unfair reporting can finally be addressed effectively.
