Blizzard unveiled a video of Diablo 4 Season 5, featuring the return of five infernal bosses from Diablo 2.
The fifth season of Diablo 4, known as the Season of the Infernal Hordes, will commence on August 6, 2024. This new season will bring the Infernal Hordes game mode, along with two additional questlines and over 50 brand new unique and legendary items, among other exciting features.
At a Campfire Chat held on August 1, 2024, Blizzard announced updates and additions to Diablo 4 Season 5.
The Fell Council, the ultimate adversaries of the season, made an appearance among them, featuring five familiar foes from Diablo 2.
The Fell Council, also referred to as the Council Members or High Council of Zakarum in Diablo 2, consists of Geleb the Flame, Bremm the Maelstrom, Wyand the Shadow, Maffer the Cruel, and Ismael the Accursed.
Despite being once-revered high priests, these individuals ultimately succumbed to Mephisto and were transformed into vessels of hatred, willing to battle against you. In Diablo 2, you banished them to hell, but in Diablo 4, you may encounter them during your Infernal Hordes expeditions.
During the Fell Council boss battle, players will face a changing lineup of three randomly selected members from the Fell Council in every fight. Blizzard’s intention is to provide a diverse range of boss fight experiences, with a total of 10 possible variations.
The development team was convinced that this would enhance the replayability of the Infernal Hordes by making each encounter unique.
By overcoming the Fell Council, you will be rewarded with Burning Aether, a currency that can be exchanged for the Spoils of Hell. These valuable rewards are exclusive to the Infernal Hordes event.
Players of Diablo 4 have expressed their desire for the return of the flavor of Diablo 2, and they will be pleased to see the appearance of some familiar characters in Season 5.
With the addition of content from Season 4 and Season 5, Diablo 4 continues to enhance and improve its overall experience. Many fans are hopeful that this progress will finally give them the ultimate gaming experience they have been waiting for.
